History
Yoyogi Park, once the Imperial Japanese Army (1871 - 1945 : The military organization that existed in Japan) was the Yoyogi training field.
Yoyogi Park was where the plane flew for the first time in Japan in 1910, there is a monument in the park.
It became Washington Heights (US military facilities) in 1946 after the defeat in World War II.
Yoyogi Park was used as a Yoyogi player village at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.
After that, it opened as Yoyogi Park in 1967 and it reached the present.
Currently the site of Yoyogi Park is 540,529.00 square-meter (about 54 ha), which is 27 times the size of Tokyo Dome.
Yoyogi Park is the fifth largest park in Central Tokyo after Kasai Rinkai Park (about 79 ha), Mizumoto Park (about 76 ha), Toneri Park (about 71 ha), and Hikarigaoka Park (about 60 ha).
Facilities
Yoyogi Park is divided into the A district on the north side where there is a fountain and the B district on the south side where sports facilities and event halls are located.
Central square
Many people are practicing musical instruments, theatrical performances, dances.
Music street performance are also performed.
There are three fountains in the central pond, and it is lighted up at night.
Observation Deck
There is a pedestrian deck overlooking the park.
A keyaki trees street
A keyaki trees (A Japanese tree of the genus Zelkova) are planted on the main street.
You can experience general Japanese landscape.
Dog park
There is a dog park that can release a dog.
It is divided into three areas: ultra small dog area, small and medium dog area, medium and large dog area.
Bird Sanctuary
There are bird sanctuaries where birds can be observed.
Cycling course
You can cycling by renting a bicycle at the cycle center.
You can borrow a rare double-seater bike (tandem bicycle).
You can bring a bicycle there. An infants cycling course is also available.

NIKE basketball court
There is an outdoor basketball court between the soccer field and the athletics field.
It was donated by NIKE.
Various people are using mainly young people regardless of nationality.
Emergency water supply facilities at the time of disaster
There is a disaster water tank in the park.
Provide clean tap water free of charge at the time of the disaster.
It is a safe country, wonderful maintenance of Japan.
Effective utilization in the basement
In the basement of Yoyogi Park, the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line is running and you can hear the running sound of the subway from the ventilation opening in the park.
There is a train garage, and up to eight trains can be stored there.
Since Japan is a small country, we are making effective use of the underground.
Football stadium plan
The Tokyo metropolitan government plans to construct a football stadium in the area where there is a track stadium, football / hockey field and outdoor stage in the south of Yoyogi Park.
In order to be a strong country of football, we aim for completion in 2025.
